Vol. 420 No. 9

Written Answers. - Offaly School Grant Aid.

Tom Enright

Question:

119 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Education if he has received an application for grant-aid from a school (details supplied) in County Offaly to pay the outstanding debt on the building and equipping of a new science room; if he will approve a grant for this work, especially in view of the fact that this school has carried out major developments over the years which were not grant-aided; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The school authorities have been informed that in accordance with the terms of the relevant scheme, retrospective grants are not payable for capital projects where prior approval was not obtained in advance.
