Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - Work Permit Extension.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

130 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Justice if he will review the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 who initially is looking for an extension of permission to stay in Ireland as his permit expires on 17 June 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person in question was granted, subject to review, permission to remain in the State for an initial period of 12 months. His conditions of stay were such as to enable him to enter employment, subject to a prospective employer obtaining an appropriate work permit. In accordance with the relevant requirements, he should attend now at the Aliens Registration Office, Harcourt Square, Dublin 2 where his permission to remain in the State will be reviewed in the normal way.
