Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry National School Accommodation.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

159 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement on the up-to-date position on the provision of a general purpose room for Lyreacrompane national school, County Kerry.

I have dealt with this matter fully in my reply to the Deputy's questions dated 9 May 1991, and 12 June 1991, and I would refer him to my reply.

It is my Department's policy to concentrate available capital resources for national schools on essential classroom accommodation. It is not possible at the present time, within the resources available to grant-aid general purpose rooms.
