Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

Tony Gregory

Question:

198 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7, who is confined to a wheelchair, can qualify for disabled person's maintenance allowance.

The assessment of eligibility for an allowance or assistance in any individual case is the responsibility of the health board concerned. Accordingly, I have referred the case to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board for investigation and a request that he reply to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
