Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - Compensation for Cucumber Growers.

Nora Owen

Question:

281 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have arrangements made to pay compensation to those growers of cucumbers who have not been found guilty of causing the recent outbreak of food poisoning as many of these growers have lost thousands of pounds due to the embargo on the sale of this produce.

I am having this matter considered at the moment but I am not in a position to make a statement at this stage.
