Séamus Cullimore

Question:

238 Mr. Cullimore asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the building regulations which are being introduced in June.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 27 and 238 together.

The following regulations have been made under the Building Control Act, 1990:—

—The Building Regulations, 1991;

—The Building Control Regulations, 1991;

—The Building Control Act, 1990 (Appeals) Regulations, 1992; and

—The Building Control Act, 1990 (Fees) Regulations, 1992.

The Building Regulations set out the requirements to be observed in the design and construction of buildings. All the regulations came into effect on 1 June, 1992.
