67 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal for the construction and stocking of a new branch library in Kildare town; when funding will be made available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Approval in principle issued in June 1990 to a proposal from Kildare County Council to provide new library facilities in Kildare Town. My Department has recently requested clarification of certain funding and staffing aspects of the proposal from the Council and a response in awaited.
