Vol. 421 No. 4

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Uniforms.

Peter Barry

Question:

76 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Defence if he has any plans to re-design the uniforms of the Defence Forces; and whether he considers that the current uniforms are suitable for (a) the army, (b) the naval and (c) the air-borne services, at this time.

There are no plans at present to re-design the uniforms issued to members of the Defence Forces. The provision of clothing for the Defence Forces, however, is kept under continual review. Changes in the existing pattern and issues of clothing made as necessary having regard to the various duties undertaken by the Defence Forces at home and abroad.
