94 Mr. Kemmy asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of (a) the sections of the Nursing Homes Act,1990, that have been brought into effect to date and (b) the sections still to be brought into effect; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Health (Nursing Homes) Act, 1990, has not yet been brought into effect. Because of the nature of the Nursing Homes Act all sections of the Act will have to be brought into effect together. No sections of the Act have yet been commenced.
The drafting of regulations which are required to bring the Nursing Homes Act into effect is at an advanced stage. It is my intention to bring the Nursing homes Act into effect as soon as possible.
