Vol. 421 No. 6

Written Answers. - Herd Breakdown Compensation.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

132 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will substantially compensate a person (details supplied) in County Cork, under the hardship fund, who has an extremely serious breakdown in his herd; and if he will advise his inspectorate to call and discuss the matter with this person.

The herd of the person named is being depopulated under the TB Eradication Scheme. Grants due will be paid as soon as possible after the depopulation measure has been carried out. Veterinary personnel from the local District Veterinary Office are advising the herdowner in regard to the disease problem in his herd.
