Vol. 421 No. 6

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Gregory — the need to have a remedial teacher sanctioned for St. Paul's primary school, North Brunswick Street, Dublin, now the only Dublin inner city school serving a severely disadvantaged area without a remedial teacher; Deputy Taylor — the availability of natural gas to Old Bawn Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24; Deputy Calleary — the question of netting on the River Moy and its effect on the tourist industry in the north Mayo area; Deputy Ferris — the serious concern of local voluntary groups, "Tidy Towns" committees, sporting organisations and local authorities, who have failed to get approval for social employment schemes due to lack of funding by the Department of Labour; Deputy Quinn — if the Minister for the Environment will clarify the position in relation to the allocation of block grants to local authorities for amenity purposes which are funded from the national lottery, in view of the commitment given in the revised Programme for Government; Deputy Lee — the cancellation of all outpatient clinics and the reduction in bed numbers by 10 per cent, for one month, in Temple Street Children's Hospital.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Gregory, Lee and Quinn.
