64 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the date on which his Department received the local contributions towards the building of a new school at Doohamlet, Castleblayney, County Monaghan; when work is likely to commence on the building of the new school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is my intention to allow this project to proceed to contract within the current financial year. For this purpose the local contribution will be sought shortly from the school authorities. I am not in a position to say at this stage when work will commence.
