Written Answers. - Computer Equipment Purchase Procedures.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

110 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the standard procedures which are followed by his Department when purchasing computer equipment; if these procedures were followed when the Department purchased the computer for its payroll section; and whether the same procedures are followed when computer equipment is purchased for use in educational establishments such as regional technical colleges.

In acquiring computer equipment, including equipment to assist in payroll processing, my Department have always adhered to standard Government purchasing procedures as prescribed by the Department of Finance.

The same procedures are followed by my Department when it is involved in purchasing computer equipment for use in educational institutions such as Regional Technical Colleges.
