Vol. 421 No. 8

Written Answers. - Limerick Reservoir Leakage.

Michael Noonan

Question:

184 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the serious leakage from Limerick Corporation's reservoir at Castletroy, County Limerick; if he will provide the capital funding necessary to remedy the problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the problem referred to. A tender recommendation from Limerick Corporation for a new reservoir is with my Department but, having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when there may be a decision.
