Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a Notice of Motion under Standing Order 30 from Deputy Richard Bruton. I call on Deputy Bruton to state the matter of which he has given notice to me.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 30.
I wish to seek the Adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 30 to raise the urgent and important matter of the dismissal of the chairman of Telecom Éireann. I would ask you, a Cheann Comhairle, in assessing this application, to bear in mind that it would be far preferable to have a debate under Standing Order 30 than a debate that would be subject to a time limit.

Having considered the matter fully I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 30 and therefore I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
