Vol. 422 No. 4

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Schools Beneficiaries.

Edward Nealon

Question:

152 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if he will outline the schools in County Sligo that benefited from the £1.75 million fund for disadvantaged areas.

The special allocation in 1992 to assist in various areas of disadvantage is £1.25 million and is being provided in respect of free school books, adult literacy and the alleviation of disadvantage in mainly urban primary and post primary schools. Schools in County Sligo would have benefited through the expenditure on school books schemes out of the disadvantaged fund.
