167 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the total number of beds in private nursing homes for elderly people which are being subvented by his Department in (a) County Sligo (b) County Leitrim and (c) the North-Western Health Board area; and if he will give details of the value of these subventions.
168 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the total number of beds in private nursing homes for elderly people in (a) County Sligo (b) County Leitrim and (c) the North-Western Health Board area which are not receiving any subvention from his Department.
I propose taking Questions No. 167 and 168 together.
My Department does not subvent any nursing homes directly. Any subventions paid to nursing homes are paid by health boards.
