Vol. 422 No. 4

Written Answers. - State Loans to Company.

Michael Bell

Question:

24 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline to whom the State has continued to guarantee loans of £2,000 and £1,000 respectively as shown in 1991 in respect of a company (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The amounts of £2,000 in Irish pounds and £1,000 in foreign currency as shown in the 1991 Finance Accounts represent the net balance outstanding at 31 December 1991 in respect of loans from Citibank and Allied Irish Banks to Irish Shipping Limited which were guaranteed by the Minister for Finance.
