Vol. 422 No. 5

Written Answers. - Meath School.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

100 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education if, in regard to a school (details supplied) in County Meath he will confirm that (1) all the planning stages had been gone through by 10 December 1991, (2) tender documentation has been completed and (3) the Minister of State at his Department and a senior official from his Department (details supplied) had a meeting with the board of management on 4 June 1992; whether it was agreed that the school would go out to tender in mid-year; if so, the reason this has not happened; and whether the building of this school will commence before the end of 1992.

Tender documentation for the proposed new school in County Meath, referred to by the Deputy, has been prepared. The question of inviting tenders is now being considered in my Department, in the context of the available capital resources, and my Department's other commitments and priorities. A decision on the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.
