Ivor Callely

Question:

72 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the way in which the pay out of the weekly national lottery jackpot is worked out; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The position regarding the distribution of lotto prize money is as follows: 25 per cent of lotto sales is allocated to the jackpot; 7.5 per cent is allocated to Match 5 prizes; 10 per cent is allocated to Match 4 prizes and 7.5 per cent is allocated to a reserve fund.
