Vol. 422 No. 6

Wildlife Bill, 1991: First Stage.

I move: That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the Wildlife Act, 1976 and certain provisions of the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958.

This is a Bill which repeals and abolishes certain enactments that currently permit the very cruel and barbaric practice of live hare coursing and makes it unlawful to engage in such cruelty, which, I know, most Members of this House of all parties abhor.

Is this Bill opposed?

No. Question put and agreed to.

As this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must be taken in Private Members' Time.

Agreed and ordered accordingly.
