Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cork Regional Sports Track.

Peter Barry

Question:

185 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Education if, in order to carry out the necessary work outlined in the joint report of the City and County engineers for Cork Regional Sports Track, he will recommend the payment of the £400,000 necessary for this purpose.

Under a scheme approved by Government, grants have been allocated from the proceeds of the national lottery for the provision of regional and local sports centres at specified locations throughout the country. The funds available under this scheme are fully committed and, consequently, it is not possible to make a grant available for the refurbishment of the athletic track at Cork Regional Technical College.
