Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Bus Service.

Donal Carey

Question:

236 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education when he will sanction the return of the school bus for Inch national school, Ennis, County Clare, which has the required number of properly qualified students attending and seeking this necessary facility.

The service, as it operated up to the end of the summer term, 1991, cannot be re-established because of insufficient numbers. An application was also considered from both the management authorities of the school and the parents to set up a service under a special provision which, however, is conditional upon its being done within reasonable cost limits. In the case of Inch national school, it has not so far proved possible to meet this condition but discussions with the local interests are continuing.
