297 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health if he is in favour of the recommendations of the Joint Review of the Department of Health and Comhairle na nOspideal to centralise orthopaedic services in the South Eastern Health Board region; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Report of the joint Comhairle na nOspideal/Department of Health Review Group on Orthopaedic Services in the South-Eastern Health Board area is currently being considered by the South-Eastern Health Board. I understand that the board met with the review group recently and intends to have the report discussed at their December meeting. In view of this, I do not intend making a statement until the board have completed its deliberations in the matter.
