312 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to be in a position to grant Urban District Council status to Leixlip Town Commission; if he expects to approve this request in conjunction with, or independently of, any further reforms of local government; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals for changes in the status, structure or area of any town, urban district or borough are matters which must be considered in the context of the review of sub-county local government which is currently being carried out and which will be completed as soon as possible.
