Question:

349 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made regarding a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has applied for a home improvement grant; whether this person notified his Department before 31 May 1990, that he wished to have this grant transferred into his own name as the new owner of this property; and if so, when he will be in a position to issue payment.

Evidence of transfer of ownership of the house was received in my Department on 18 May 1989 following which additional information was requested from the applicant. Neither it nor notification that work had been completed was received by 31 May 1990, the final date for the receipt of such notification. Accordingly the grant cannot be paid.
