Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - Newmarket-on-Fergus (Clare) Water Supply.

Donal Carey

Question:

351 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for the Environment if he has been consulted recently about the extensive problems which are being experienced in New-market-on-Fergus, County Clare regarding the public water supply, where the local authority is not able to grant planning permission for substantial housing developments; if he will sanction the contract for this work in 1992; and if he will state the expected capital outlay.

The consultant's brief for this scheme was approved by my Department in March 1992 and Clare County Council have recently appointed consultants to prepare a preliminary report together with details of estimated costs.
