372 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the total number of local authority houses built throughout the entire country in the period 1981 to 1986 and in the period 1987 to 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I refer to the reply to Question No. 218 of 19 April 1988 which provides details of the number of local authority houses completed in each of the years 1981 to 1986. Information in relation to the years 1987-1991 is published in the Annual Housing Statistics Bulletin 1991, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
It is not possible, at this stage, to provide a definitive figure for completions in 1992.
373 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of private housing starts for the five year period ending 31 December 1986 and for the period from 1987 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
