Question:383 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when he will ratify the United Nations Convention on Children's Rights.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 378 and 383 together.
In the course of my visit to the United Nations at the end of September, I deposited with the UN Legal Counsel the Instrument of Ratification by Ireland of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Convention will enter into force in Ireland on 28 October 1992, 30 days after deposit of the instrument of ratification.
