Vol. 423 No. 1

Written Answers. - Money due to Fóir Teoranta.

Peter Barry

Question:

129 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance the amounts of money due to Fóir Teoranta at the cessation of activities of that company, and the amount of money that has since been paid.

The estimated net book value of loans and investments of Fóir Teoranta at the time of its wind-up on 2 April 1991 was £12,765,541. This figure was subsequently revised to £12,189,351 due to some additional provisions. Since then an amount of £2,014,805 has been repaid up to 30 September 1992 along with £888,351 interest and dividends.

In accordance with the Fóir Teoranta (Dissolution) Act, 1990 audited accounts of the Fóir Teoranta portfolio have been prepared by ICC Bank plc, (for the 15 months ended 2 April 1991 and the seven months ended 31 October 1991) copies of which have been laid before each House of the Oireachtas.
