68 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Finance if an extra allocation of funding will be made in this year for completion of drainage work on the Bonet drainage scheme in County Leitrim; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
There are no additional funds available for the Bonet catchment drainage scheme this year. My Department have expended all funds available to it.
Prior to my reappointment earlier this year, it was decided to suspend operations indefinitely, with practically 91 per cent of scheduled work completed. Consideration is now being given to a proposal to undertake some additional minor bank clearance works and it is hoped that these works will be carried out next year.
