Vol. 423 No. 4

Written Answers. - Northern Ireland Passport Holders.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

170 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of residents of Northern Ireland who hold Irish passports; and the number of these who also hold British passports.

I regret the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available. Passport office records do not differentiate between Irish citizens on the basis of place of residence, nor is it the practice of the Passport Office to require Irish citizens who apply for an Irish passport to state if they also hold a passport of another country.
