Question:141 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on recent reports that the General Medical Services Payments Board is to be axed in its present form.

As part of the current GMS Review discussions, the management side has put forward proposals relating to management and organisational issues in general practice with particular reference to the future roles to be played by the Department of Health, health boards and the General Medical Services (Payments) Board. As discussions on these issues have not yet been completed, it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment on the matter at this stage.
