21 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Justice the outcome of the investigation into allegations of abuses in the aliens registration office in Dublin; the action, if any, which has been taken as a result of the investigation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a file on the matter referred to by the Deputy was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions who directed that there should be no prosecutions. Any other necessary steps arising as a result of the investigation will be taken in consultation with the Garda authorities.
