140 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Health if he will advise or direct the Irish Medical Council to amend or repeal section E of the Guide to Ethical Conduct and Behaviour and Fitness to Practice (details supplied) so as to reflect the current acceptable Irish medical practice in relation to the management of ectopic pregnancies.

It will be necessary for the Medical Council to review the Guide to Ethical Conduct and Behaviour and Fitness to Practice in the context of the Supreme Court decision in the case of the Attorney-General v. X and others and in the context of the outcome of the forthcoming Referendum arising from that case.
