Written Answers. - County Mayo Sewerage Scheme.

Question:

157 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve the preliminary report submitted in April 1991, in respect of stage 1 of the Westport Sewerage Scheme in County Mayo for which phasing proposals have been submitted and an application for a foreshore licence has been made to the Department of the Marine.

I refer to the reply to Question No. 201 of 8 July 1992. The position is unchanged.

158 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve the preliminary report in respect of the Castlebar Environs Drainage Scheme in County Mayo which matter has been lodged for some time.

A preliminary report on this scheme has been submitted to my Department by Mayo County Council. Further information is awaited from the council before the scheme can be fully appraised.

159 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve the preliminary report approved by Mayo County Council and submitted on 8th November 1991 in respect of the Tourmakeady Sewerage Scheme.

This preliminary report is under consideration in my Department. Having regard to the level of commitments on the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision on the scheme may be made.

160 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve the contract documents in respect of the Cong sewerage scheme in County Mayo which have been lodged with his Department.

Design documentation for this scheme has been submitted to my Department by Mayo County Council. Further information has been sought from the council so as to enable the proposal to be considered more fully.

161 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve stage 11 of the Shrule sewerage scheme in County Mayo which is awaiting sanction.

The design documentation for this scheme is under consideration in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision on the scheme may be made.

162 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment when he expects to approve the feasibility study in respect of the Lahardane sewerage scheme in County Mayo which was submitted some time ago.

I refer to the reply to Question No. 81 of 12 March 1992. The position is unchanged.
