Question:

40 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for the Environment the consultancy assignments, studies and other surveys, if any, which he has commissioned to date in 1992; the total cost of such assignments, commissions and studies; and the expenditure, if any, which will arise in 1992 on foot of work already commissioned.

The following consultancy services have been commissioned to date in 1992: assistance in the production of the Review and Outlook for the Construction Industry 1991/1992; A Report on the National Vehicle Registration and Licensing Files; Study of Senior Professional and Technical Services in the Department; Study on the Best Available Technology for Integrated Control of Pollution from Certain Industries; Study of Information Flows from Local Authorities; Advisory services; Study of Training Needs; Modifications to computer systems in the Department.

The total cost of these consultancies is £147,161. A further £131,300 should be paid this year on foot of work commissioned prior to 1992.

In addition to the foregoing, work on Phase 2 of the Dublin Transportation Initiative will cost £1,185,925 this year.
