Written Answers. - Parking Charges.

Richard Bruton

Question:

51 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has made a decision about the release of funds collected in parking meter charges so that traffic safety improvements could be made in the Dublin Corporation area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals received from Dublin Corporation for expenditure of £3.5 million of capital receipts from parking charges in Dublin city were approved on 19 May 1992. The approved measures included the implementation of a further phase of the SCATS programme, traffic calming measures, the provision of cycle facilities and a series of road improvement schemes.
