Vol. 423 No. 8

Written Answers. - Casual Trading Permits.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

89 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, under the Casual Trading Act, 1980, he has any proposals to change the charges that are made for casual trading permits; if he will bring in regulation to facilitate local authorities to charge different rates for permits having regard to the location of the permit and the market value of the permits in location terms; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In the context of the review of the Act which I have carried out, one of the reforms in the Act which I will be proposing will address the question of appropriate fees for permits by the local authorities.
