Vol. 423 No. 8

Written Answers. - Leitrim Land Disposal.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

93 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Finance the reason it has taken nine months to prepare the required contract documentations in a case whereby the Office of Public Works is disposing of a portion of its land in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim; and if this land will be on the open market before the end of the year.

As indicated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 131 (columns 132/133) in March last, consultations with Telecom Éireann were required to redefine the boundaries of the property in question. Some difficulties in regard to legal title, concerning, in particular, the question of shared access to the site have been resolved and contract documentation for the sale of the property is awaited from the Office of the Chief State Solicitor. It is expected that the property will be offered for sale before the end of this year.
