Question:96 Mr. O'Toole asked the Minister for the Marine when it is proposed to allocate funds for the extension to and repairs of Darby's Pier at Achill Island, County Mayo; and if it will be included in the 1993 estimates.
Written Answers. - County Mayo Pier.
A site investigation is currently being undertaken by my Department at Darby's Point Pier, County Mayo. Weather permitting it is hoped that this investigation will be completed by the end of this year. The results of the investigation will be used to draw up detailed designs and costings for the project.
When design work has been completed and costings are established it will then be possible to say when construction will commence.
