Question:

108 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if the full maintenance element of higher education grant is payable in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who resides more than 25 miles from the third level college which he is attending; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand from Kildare County Council, the body statutorily entrusted with the administration of the Higher Education Grants Scheme, in this case that a maintenance grant has been awarded.

I refer the Deputy to the council for any detailed information he may require in relation to this particular case.
