40 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health when approval will issue to the Western Health Board for the purchase of necessary equipment and additional staffing to open clean air operating theatres for orthopaedic services in a hospital (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The position is that the Western Health Board's request for additional funds to staff and equip the new Clean Air Theatres at Merlin Park Regional Hospital will be considered in the context of the capital and revenue funds available in 1993.
