Vol. 424 No. 1

Written Answers. - Children's Eye Tests.

Donal Carey

Question:

42 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the long wait for children referred from a school examination for an eye test in hospitals on the North side of Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that there is a long waiting time for children referred for eye tests in Beaumont, the Mater and Temple Street Hospitals.

The question of taking measures to improve the situation will be considered as sympathetically as possible in the context of the 1993 Estimates, having regard to the many competing demands for resources and the priorities of the hospitals concerned.
