Question:

169 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the allegedly inaccurate information submitted by a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in respect of his application for cow premiums was brought to his Department's attention by the applicant before the decision was made, thus illustrating a complete absence of any attempt at falsification of the application; if he will reconsider the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The incorrect information given by the person named in his application for 1991 EC suckler cow premium was discovered at an inspection of his herd and was not brought to my Department's attention beforehand. The penalties for incorrect declarations must, accordingly, stand in this case.
