111 Mr. Cullimore asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and communications if there are any grants available for holiday cottage projects.

There are no moneys provided in the Vote for Tourism, Transport and Communications for grant aiding accommodation development including holiday cottage projects.

112 Mr. Cullimore asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications the amount which has been spent to date on the various phases of Rosslare Port; when it is envisaged that the present phase will be completed; and the cost of the present phase.

Work on the upgrading of various facilities at Rosslare Harbour has been ongoing since 1987. Details are as follows.

The first phase of the development involved the building of the new terminal, overhead walkways etc. and was completed in 1989. The total cost of this work was £5.2 million.

The second phase of development work on the Harbour commenced in 1991 and provides for the upgrading of pier and berthing infrastructure. Total expenditure of £11.4 million is expected to arise on this phase of development, which will be completed by the end of 1993. To date, expenditure of £10.4 million has been incurred.

The third and final phase of the development, costing £7.4 million, is due to commence in 1984 and be completed by the end of 1995. When completed, this investment will bring total expenditure on the Rosslare Harbour Development project to £24 million.
