Vol. 424 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ophthalmic Services.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

130 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the long period of waiting for eye specialist appointments in South Tipperary; if he intends to take steps to improve the service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the South-Eastern Health Board that they are in the process of recruiting a community ophthalmic physician for South Tipperary. When this person takes up duty the board is satisfied that it will be adequate to meet the service needs.
