Written Answers. - Teagasc Centres.

Phil Hogan

Question:

200 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present financial situation in Teagasc; the financial self-sufficiency of each Teagasc centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Teagasc expects to balance its budget in 1992. It is estimated that expenditure will be about £60 million and that it will be funded as follows:

£m

Exchequer provision

34.59

EC receipts

11.41

Charges, contracts, levies and own receipts

14.00

60.00

The financial position of individual Teagasc centres is an internal matter for the body itself.
