202 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether there are any circumstances whereby the importation of Jersey cows and heifers into Ireland from Jersey Island will be allowed; the current health status in relation to BSE or any other animal diseases on the island; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Due to the incidence of BSE, the importation of adult cattle from Jersey is prohibited.
