The common organisation of the market for fruit and vegetables includes soft fruit. EC Commission agreement for including such products for provision of assistance under the Market Development Fund has not been forthcoming to date.
Discussions with the Commission are continuing in an effort to find a solution to deal with the difficulties facing this sector of the horticultural industry.
